HAY, I'm Lauren. This is Having A Yarn.
Life is noisy, fast and full of screens. Having A Yarn is your invitation to slow down, switch off and make something. Our chunky, shed-free knit kits are designed for total beginners, with our very own needle-free, knot only method that makes DIY actually easy. Whether you stitch solo or chat sh-knit with friends, we're all about no stress, no complicated techniques, just simple loops, soft stitches and a little space to unwind.

I was stressed.
And in my quest for a hobby that actually stuck, I stumbled into knitting. I’ve always struggled to switch off—if I’m not being “productive,” what’s the point, right? Turns out, knitting was the answer. It’s rhythmic, meditative, and strangely calming, but best of all, it satisfies that itch to create something tangible. A moment of calm that still feels like an accomplishment.

My quest.
So, I went on a bit of a quest. I wanted to make knitting feel as accessible, rewarding, and fun for others as it had been for me. Because hobbies shouldn’t be stressful—they should be the thing that helps you unwind, boosts your confidence, and reminds you that creating something with your own two hands is pretty damn satisfying. Whether it’s the thrill of finishing a project or just the quiet joy of looping yarn over and over, I knew more people needed to experience this. And that’s exactly why Having A Yarn was born.
