Jump to the Juicy Bits
Step 1: Start with a Slip Knot [05:00]
- Create a slip knot and place it on your 12mm needle.
- Gently pull the knot to tighten it on the needle.
Step 2: Cast On [01:05]
- Cast on (CO) 26 stitches (st) onto your 12mm needle.
Step 3: Knit the First Row [06:58]
- Hold the needle with the stitches in your left hand.
- Hold the empty needle in your right hand.
- For this row, knit (K) all the stitches (st) until you reach the end of the row.
Step 4: Repeat the Knit Stitches for the Entire Scarf [11:23]
- Repeat (rep) step 3 for the remainder of your scarf.
- Continue knitting until you have approximately 1 meter of yarn left on the 4th ball of yarn. Nearly done!
Step 5: Cast Off [15:17]
- Knit the first two stitches.
- Lift the first stitch over the second stitch on the right needle to cast off one stitch.
- Knit one more stitch (K1).
- Repeat the cast off (BO) step by lifting the first stitch (st) over the second stitch (st).
- Continue this process until you have just one stitch left on the needle.
- Remove the final stitch from the needle and thread the yarn tail through the loop to secure it.
Step 6: Secure the Ends & Hide the Tail [18:18]
- Using a darning needle, tie an extra knot at the scarf’s corner for added security.
- Trim any excess yarn - you’re done!
